Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains in Brookings, SD is seeking a Learning Lead to provide individualized and small-group academic support, plan engaging lessons, and supervise program areas. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or working toward an Education Degree.
• Two years of current or previous work with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to comprehend, apply, and demonstrate behavior management principles.

Responsibilities

• Support the academic growth, development, and overall progress of youth.
• Demonstrate proficiency in assigned academic subject areas and assist in the development and implementation of engaging curriculum.
• Maintain a growth mindset toward youth learning, professional development, and teaching practices.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all members.
• Encourage problem-solving, curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning.
• Provide academic support to youth through homework assistance, special projects & programs, enrichment activities, and other educational opportunities.
• Support youth experiencing behavioral challenges using positive behavioral strategies and ensure established Success Plans are followed and implemented consistently.
• Ensure self and assigned staff consistently implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.

Education
