Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains Brookings, SD is seeking a Crew Learning Specialist to work with the Learning Lead. You will provide homework help, reinforce academic concepts, support enrichment activities, and help youth build confidence in a positive learning environment.

You will supervise members, promote positive behavior, ensure safety, and uphold the Club's mission and values. This part-time, non-exempt role emphasizes collaboration, youth development, and engaging

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous work with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Commitment to working five days a week.
• Must demonstrate behavior management principles and positive youth development approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support the academic growth and overall progress of youth.
• Maintain a growth mindset toward youth learning and teaching practices.
• Encourage problem-solving, curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning.
• Provide academic support through homework assistance, enrichment activities, and other educational opportunities.
• Support youth with behavioral challenges using positive behavioral strategies and follow established Success Plans.
• Implement Positive Youth Development elements in daily interactions and programming.
• Model the Club values of Excellence, Impact Driven, Teamwork, and Good Character.
• Assist with program activities following Club policies and expectations.
• Maintain safety, supervision and security of youth during activities.
• Communicate updates and concerns to the supervisor at shift end.
• Attend monthly all-staff meetings and regular 1:1 and team meetings.
• Collaborate with the supervisor to develop performance and professional goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
