Job summary

arc After School and Experiential Education in San Diego, CA is seeking an Inclusion Aide to support diverse learners within our expanded learning programs. You will work closely with Site Coordinators and Program Leaders to ensure students are fully included and receive necessary support for safe, engaging participation.

The role emphasizes individualized support, collaboration with families and staff, and involvement in enrichment activities across arts, STEM, and recreation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth in educational, recreational, after-school, or related settings.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Completion of 48 college units or passing score on an approved academic proficiency examination.
• Ability to pass Live Scan background clearance.
• Negative TB test result.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (adult, child, and infant).

Responsibilities

• Support students in participating successfully in daily program activities.
• Provide individualized support and encouragement to students as needed.
• Assist students with homework completion and supplemental learning activities.
• Promote positive student behavior and engagement using age-appropriate support strategies.
• Support student safety through active supervision and line-of-sight monitoring.
• Assist with attendance tracking, student transitions, and parent/guardian release procedures.
• Collaborate with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success.
• Participate in recreational, enrichment, leadership, arts, STEM, and physical activities.
• Follow all Arc policies, safety procedures, and mandated reporting requirements.
• When assigned, trained, and authorized, provide respectful assistance with a student’s individualized health, hygiene, or toileting support needs, following the student’s approved plan and applicable school, district, and Arc policies.
