Job summary

The City of Shoreview is seeking energetic instructors to run its in-house learn-to-skate program at the Ramsey County Shoreview Arena. Training is provided, and no prior instruction experience is required.

Classes run Saturdays from 8:00 to 9:40 a.m., with seven-week seasonal sessions in fall and winter. Instructors will teach beginners to intermediate skaters, follow lesson plans, assess progress, and foster a safe, fun environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Previous skating at intermediate or advanced level.
• CPR/First Aid/AED training provided by the city.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach ice skating techniques to a range of skill levels and ages.
• Demonstrate skills, spot progressions, and follow lesson plans.
• Plan and organize classes to keep participants active.
• Assess skills for readiness to advance to the next level.
• Communicate clearly with children and parents/guardians.
