Job summary

The City of Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic instructors for the Learn to Skate program at the IBP Ice Center. Instructors will teach ice-skating skills to participants of all ages and abilities, and create a fun, safe, encouraging learning environment.

Three six-week sessions run from October to May, with weekend evening hours required and each lesson about 1.5 hours including setup and teardown. U.S. Figure Skating certificate preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience with ice skating and teaching ice-skating lessons preferred.
• Ability to work well with children and individuals of varying skill levels.
• U.S. Figure Skating certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coach beginner and intermediate skaters in a supportive, fun environment.
• Help build confidence, skill, and community on the ice.
• Be part of a team that brings winter magic to life.
