Job summary

City of Elk River is seeking a Skating Academy Instructor Level I to support the Learn to Skate program at the Community Event Center in Elk River, MN. This part-time, on-site role starts at $14.00 per hour with a 2026 range of $14.00–$17.00 hourly.

You will assist in teaching, track attendance, and help manage class activities on the ice, ensuring a safe, fun learning environment for participants of all ages.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic ice-skating skills.
• Ability to teach USFS Snowplow Sam through Basic 5.
• Ability to be on skates and on ice for a minimum of 3 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction of the Learn to Skate program.
• Teaches Learn to Skate classes as required.
• Tracks students' attendance and progress.
• Assists in controlling the students both on and off the ice.
• Maintains punctuality in arriving and departing at schedule times.
• Follows safety procedures and participates in safety training.
