Job summary

HeartShare is seeking a Group Leader to supervise and engage a group of children in after-school or summer programs. You will implement scheduled activities, support homework, and create a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires a high school senior or higher and being at least 17, with after-school hours from 2PM to 6PM. You will work closely with families and staff, build rapport, and assist with attendance records and field trips.

Qualifications

• Must be a High School Senior or higher to apply.
• Up to 1 year of experience working with children of various ages.
• Must be at least 17 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and actively engage a group of children in daily program activities.
• Assist in planning and leading age-appropriate academic, recreational and cultural enrichment activities.
• Create a safe learning space for children that promotes a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Build rapport with participants, families, and staff, fostering strong relationships.
• Assist in maintaining daily attendance records, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families, teachers and community members about the program and work with them to strengthen support for youth.
• Accompany youth on cultural and recreational field trips.
