Job summary

HeartShare is seeking a Group Leader to supervise and engage a group of children in after-school or summer programs. You will implement scheduled activities, support homework, and create a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires a high school senior or higher and being at least 17, with after-school hours from 2PM to 6PM. You will work closely with families and staff, build rapport, and assist with attendance records and field trips.

• Must be at least 17 years of age.

• Communicate professionally with families, teachers and community members about the program and work with them to strengthen support for youth.
• Accompany youth on cultural and recreational field trips.

The Group Leader is responsible for the direct supervision, engagement, and safety of the group they are assigned to in an afterschool or summer camp setting. This role involves implementing schedule activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and serving as a mentor and role model to the youth. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, and passionate about youth development.Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities of Position:Serves as role model for program participants.Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development.
