Cocoon House is seeking a detail-oriented Property Maintenance professional to oversee regular building upkeep, safety, and grounds across Everett, Monroe, and Lynnwood locations. The role supports youth, staff, and visitors, upholding our mission and inclusive culture.

Starting wage is $26/hr with a $1.50/hr multilingual pay differential. Requires basic plumbing/electrical, HVAC awareness, and ability to coordinate tasks with leadership and volunteers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in general building and grounds maintenance; including basic plumbing and electrical, supply ordering and organization, landscape/grounds keeping.
• Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• High school diploma/GED or high school equivalency
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 6 months minimum of experience working with youth
• DCYF background clearance
• Acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than 2 violations within last 3 years
• Possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Assess property maintenance needs across multiple buildings, grounds, and equipment; develop a schedule to complete tasks and perform or schedule maintenance.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of HUB property common spaces.
• Create and maintain maintenance policies and procedures (preventive maintenance, safety inspections, key control, work orders).
• Communicate and partner with operations and leadership; collaborate on long-term solutions.
• Maintain weekly updates and administer online Maintenance Tracking software.
• Prioritize requests and handle them expeditiously.
• Vendor management, including annual certification scheduling.
• Ensure safe storage of chemicals, tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Oversee facility improvement projects with Volunteer Manager.
• Order and inventory facility supplies.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance (fixtures, wiring, bulbs) and minor plumbing (leaks, drains).
• Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry tasks.
• Perform routine custodial services; seasonal landscaping maintenance.
