The City University of New York's CUNY Fatherhood Academy at Hostos Community College is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to support young fathers toward college readiness, further education, and sustainable employment within a comprehensive program.

The coordinator will maintain a caseload of participants, provide individualized and group counseling, mentor students, coordinate workshops, plan educational strategies, track attendance and outcomes, and collaborate with college offices and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years' experience counseling fathers, young adults, or a related population.
• Experience in a college/university setting preferred.
• Strong organizational, time-management, administrative skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with databases; ability to lead sessions virtually using Zoom and educational apps.
• Willingness to take initiative, meet deadlines, and handle changing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Maintains a caseload of active and alumni participants; provides counseling, coaching, mentoring, and career exploration support.
• Facilitates workshops to educate, inspire, and guide participants toward self-sufficiency and effective parenting.
• Prepares educational plans including academic assessment, preparation for employment, parenting instruction, and college placement.
• Coordinates and tracks attendance and progress; analyzes program data and prepares reports.
• Assists with outreach and recruitment through events, social media, and community partners.
• Screens applicants for eligibility and conducts orientation sessions.
• Researches and connects participants to educational and vocational opportunities.
• Helps organize field trips, family events, job fairs, and graduation ceremonies.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
