Job summary

Earlywine Park YMCA is seeking a Youth and Family Department Coordinator to support and enhance community programs focused on youth and family development. You will assist in planning, supervising, and evaluating program staff and volunteers, while maintaining safety and compliance with YMCA policies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families and partners, creating engaging activities for children, and contributing to program growth and ideas within a welcoming team environment.

Qualifications

• Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
• Must complete annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
• Must be 21 years old with experience in working with infants, children, and families.
• Scheduling, supervising, and evaluating staff; address parent concerns and communicate effectively both oral and written.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in recreation, education, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with children and families in a recreational or educational setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of youth programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing department programs including Child Watch, School Age Care, and Summer Day Camp
• Support daily operations of youth and family programs, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality activities and experiences for children and families
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community partners to promote program participation and address concerns
• Maintain program records, attendance, and compliance with YMCA policies and safety standards
• Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising program staff and volunteers
• Contribute to the development of new program ideas and initiatives to meet community needs
