Job summary

YMCA Indiana County Pennsylvania is seeking a Youth and Family Worker to provide childcare, participant support, instruction, and leadership within Youth and Family programs. The role emphasizes creating a safe, welcoming environment and upholding the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Responsibilities include supervising children, supporting program activities, and ensuring participant welfare.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of experience interacting with or caring for children.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and team members.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations.
• Required clearances & certifications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and interact with children while maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Provide support for assigned Youth and Family programs and activities.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of participants.
• Assist with age-appropriate activities, games, and instruction.
• Assist with program setup, cleanup, and maintaining safe, clean, and functional program areas.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Maintain attendance records and other program documentation as required.
• Respond appropriately to emergency and safety situations.
• Attend required meetings and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
