Job summary

Black Caucus of the American Library Association is seeking a Program Specialist with a juvenile focus to develop, implement, and evaluate system-wide programs promoting reading and community literacy. Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the priority area.
  • Knowledge and installation experience helpful for development of theme-related programs.
  • Customer service experience and experience with large-scale program implementation and design preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred (not required).
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current initiatives designed for adults, teens and children.
  • Budget management and accountability for program funds and Library Foundation grant money.
  • Develop new programs based on community needs and opportunities.
  • Coordinate translation and interpretation needs for library system, departments and branches.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, government entities and educational institutions.
  • Prepare and report statistics on departmental activities.
