Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Family Development Coach (FDC) in our High School Youth: Educational Support program area in the Bronx. The FDC will partner with students and families, set achievable self-reliance goals, and connect them with services to reach those goals.

The role emphasizes collaborative problem-solving in a supportive environment. The position is full-time, year-round, in-person, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Education, Psychology, or Social Work.
• Experience in urban education or NYC youth development is preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish is highly preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, families and school partners.
• Available for all program hours daily and in-person staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for youth meeting applicable regulations.
• Identify needs of targeted students, apply interventions, and track progress.
• Monitor attendance and follow up to ensure continuous engagement.
• Coordinate with teachers to target interventions and track impact.
• Develop partnerships with City agencies and non-profits for services.
• Support resource management, grant maintenance, and space coordination.
• Assist with program activities including expanded learning time and family engagement.
• Participate in school team meetings and data collection activities.
