Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Family Development Coach (FDC) in The Bronx to partner with students and families. The role centers on setting achievable goals, guiding self-reliance, and connecting families with needed services to support student progress.

The position is full-time, year-round, in-person, with a salary of $45,000–$50,000 annually. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm, in Bronx facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Education, Psychology, or Social Work
• Experience in urban education is preferred
• Bilingual: Spanish highly preferred
• Family Development Coach certification within one year of hiring

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for youth and ensure compliance with DOE, DOH, funders and labor laws
• Identify needs of students, apply interventions, and track progress for weekly meetings
• Monitor attendance and follow-up with families to ensure engagement
• Build partnerships with city agencies and non-profits to provide a continuum of services
• Coordinate space for student and family support services and events
• Participate in data collection, reporting and analysis
