Job summary

Arc After School & Experiential Education seeks a dedicated Specialized Instructor to design and deliver hands-on enrichment curricula for students across levels I-III. This part-time role emphasizes safety, classroom management, and engaging, age-appropriate activities.

You'll collaborate with site coordinators, promote programs on campus, and ensure compliance while supporting youth development and learning goals in a dynamic after-school setting.

Qualifications

• Availability to work set school programming hours, including early dismissal days and weekends.
• Experience facilitating specialized curriculum to students.
• Experience in school settings, after school programs, or youth recreational facilities.
• Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities.
• 48+ College Units completed or CAPE exam.
• TB Test Clearance & Live Scan Clearance (Background check).
• For LAUSD placements must obtain LAUSD SSO and complete Risk Management Training (RMT).
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Current CPR Certification for adult, child, and infant.
• To qualify for higher levels, certifications and teacher credentials must be on file with HR.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate a full syllabus and lesson plans for enrichment activities approved by Site Coordinator.
• Manage students sign in/out, incident reports, and compliance requirements.
• Instruct scheduled enrichment time blocks meeting required student-instructor ratios.
• Market and advertise the enrichment program, create flyers, recruit students on campus.
• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to educating and empowering youth.
• Apply safety protocols for indoor/outdoor settings and manage behavior.
• Participate in training and professional development; implement feedback.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing as needed for operations.
• Use critical thinking to make sound decisions reflecting best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
