Job summary

arc After School and Experiential Education seeks a Specialized Instructor to deliver engaging enrichment lessons at Animo South LA Charter High School in Los Angeles, CA. This part-time, non-exempt role emphasizes hands-on learning and student empowerment.

You will develop syllabi, manage attendance, ensure safety, and promote the program on campus while maintaining appropriate student-instructor ratios and meeting grant requirements.

Qualifications

• Availability to work set school programming hours, including early dismissal days and weekends.
• Experience facilitating specialized curriculum to students.
• Experience in school settings, after school programs, or youth recreational facilities.
• Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities.
• TB Test Clearance & Live Scan Clearance (Background check).
• LAUSD placement requires LAUSD SSO and Risk Management Training (RMT).
• Current CPR Certification (adult, child, infant).
• Certifications/teacher credentials may be required for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate a full syllabus and lesson plans for enrichment activities.
• Manage student sign in/out, incident reports, and compliance requirements.
• Instruct scheduled enrichment time blocks with appropriate student-instructor ratios.
• Market and advertise the program on campus to recruit participants.
• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to empowering youth.
• Ensure safety protocols in indoor and outdoor settings.
