Job summary

Roads to Success Inc. is seeking on-site program staff to plan and deliver enrichment activities in NYC public schools and community sites.

You will develop age-appropriate lesson plans, prepare materials, and ensure safe, engaging experiences for youth in diverse settings. Excellent facilitation, communication, and reliability are essential as you adapt activities to participant needs, support capstone projects, and collaborate with program leaders to maintain program quality and compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Recreation, Arts, Sports Management, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with school-age children in after-school or related programs.
• Facilitation skills to plan and lead structured activities for youth.
• Ability to establish clear expectations and use developmentally appropriate strategies.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork with youth, families, and partners.
• Basic proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate enrichment activities within the assigned specialty area.
• Develop structured, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with goals.
• Deliver engaging, interactive activities accessible to varied abilities.
• Prepare materials, equipment, and spaces; ensure cleanup after programming.
• Adapt activities based on interests, needs, and program circumstances.
• Encourage creativity, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and skill development.
• Support culminating projects, performances, or demonstrations of learning.
• Build positive relationships with participants and maintain safe, inclusive environments.
• Promote Circle of Courage principles and use positive behavior management.
• Communicate with program leadership; participate in meetings and trainings.
• Maintain documentation, attendance, and required program records.
• Assist with arrival/dismissal, transitions, and special events as needed.
• Follow safety policies; report incidents to leadership promptly.
