Job summary

Roads to Success seeks an Assistant Director to support the Program Director in leading and coordinating daily operations at an RTS program site in New York City. This onsite role requires supervising staff, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality youth programs.

The position emphasizes staff coaching, program quality, and strong organizational skills, with a focus on positive youth development and family engagement. Five days onsite per week with a 30-hour schedule is typical.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Human Services, Recreation, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in youth development, after-school programming, education, or related environments.
• Lead, supervisory, or program coordination experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to direct and coach frontline youth staff and maintain program quality.

Responsibilities

• Site Leadership & Program Operations: support daily coordination and operation of the assigned program site.
• Staff Supervision & Support: provide direction, coaching, and supervision to frontline staff.
• Program Quality & Youth Development: implement engaging, youth-centered programming and Circle of Courage framework.
• Youth Safety & Active Supervision: ensure proper supervision and safety procedures are followed.
• Attendance, Enrollment & Documentation: manage attendance, rosters, and required documentation.
• Compliance & Family Engagement: support compliance with RTS policies and engage families.
