Job summary

LACOE Expanded is seeking an After School Program Leader (Part-Time) in Southgate, CA. The role involves providing leadership and support in academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment for K-12 youth in a safe school setting.

The Program Leader will work under the Program Coordinator, ensuring engaging activities, proper supervision, and coordination with school staff and families. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in educational/recreational settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 ratio using effective recruitment and retention strategies.
• Create a creative environment with academic, cultural and recreational enrichment; prepare supplies and materials.
• Use age-appropriate methods and supervise students in activity areas.
• Maintain professional attitude and communication with stakeholders.
• Escort/supervise youth on field trips and events; attend required trainings.
