Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a staff member to implement high-quality enrichment curriculum and programming aligned with the YMCA's mission. You will provide a welcoming, inclusive learning environment that supports youth development, creativity, and confidence among participants.

Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering lessons, adapting instruction for diverse learners, maintaining safety, tracking attendance, and documenting reports under site leadership.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
• Experience working with children or in youth programs preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and delivers enrichment lessons or activities.
• Creates safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
• Adapts instruction to meet diverse learning needs, abilities, and backgrounds.
• Responsible for setup and cleanup of program areas before and after class.
• Supervises children under the direct guidance of site leadership.
• Maintains professional and friendly communication with children, families, and staff.
• Follows YMCA policies including safety, child abuse prevention, and incident reporting.
