Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time program assistant to support after-school and day-camp enrichment activities. You will help implement quality curriculum and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children and families.

Focus on youth development and living the YMCA values; you will model core values, supervise participants, participate in family nights, and assist with setup and daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and child abuse trainings are required.
• Experience with children in developmental settings preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and adherence to health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implements enrichment lesson/activity plans for centers and outdoor areas.
• Supervises children under the Coordinator/Director and models YMCA values.
• Assists with setup, breakdown, and cleaning of program activities.
• Maintains positive relations with children, parents, and staff.
• Reports suspected abuse and ensures proper sign-in/out and security.
