Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS in Florida seeks a Youth Engagement Specialist to provide crisis intervention and wrap-around services for youth and families in the St. Petersburg area. The role requires in-person responses, developing Support Plans, and coordinating with schools and community partners.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in social work, 2 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. The position offers a four-day work week, PTO, holidays, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related area from an accredited college or university.
• Two (2) years’ experience in field-based social work or related human services field preferred.
• Knowledge of child development preferred.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide an in-person response, as required, and within the timeframes designated by contractual requirements.
• Identify strengths, limitations, risk factors, and needs, using the required assessment tool, to develop a Support Plan and coordination of services.
• Provide referral and follow-up to appropriate community resources as deemed appropriate to meet youth and families’ needs.
• Coordinate with schools, the Department of Corrections, the Juvenile Justice Department, and other community providers.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Youth Engagement Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing crisis intervention and wrap-around services within the City of St. Petersburg for youth and their families. Duties and Responsibilities:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related area of study from an accredited college or university
• Two (2) years’ experience in field-based social work or related human services field preferred
• Knowledge of child development preferred
• Competent in using Microsoft Office applications
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in high-stress situations
• Ability to work with individuals who exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviors
• Use of personal vehicle to transport clients as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
