Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS in Florida is seeking a field-based social service professional to deliver in-person responses within contractual timeframes, assess client needs, and develop coordinated supports for youth and families. You will connect with schools, the Department of Corrections, and other providers to arrange referrals and follow-up as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in social work or related field, 2 years of field experience preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related area from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in field-based social work or related human services field preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development preferred.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Verbal de-escalation skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work with individuals who exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviors.
  • Use of personal vehicle to transport clients as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
