Job summary

Global Kids in New York, NY seeks a Youth Engagement Specialist for PS 21 in Brooklyn. This full-time role focuses on attendance improvement, youth development, family engagement, and school partnerships within a public school setting.

The position requires 2+ years working with high school youth, knowledge of NYC resources, and strong facilitation and communication skills. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with a focus on education or social services.
• Experience with high school youth or school-based programs is valued.
• Knowledge of NYC public schools and Community Schools Initiative is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support school attendance improvement strategies and attend attendance meetings.
• Develop metrics, monitor progress, and analyze attendance data.
• Promote a positive school climate with safety and community focus.
• Coordinate interactive GK workshops and activities for enrichment programs.
• Communicate with students, families, teachers, and partners regularly.
• Build relationships with parents and community stakeholders.
• Assist with program planning, curriculum development, and youth leadership.
• Occasionally participate in overnight and long-distance travel events.
