Job summary

Global Kids, Inc. is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support attendance strategies, family outreach, and on-site school partnerships with high school students in Brooklyn.

The role emphasizes experiential workshops, program development, and cross-team collaboration to foster positive youth development within NYC public schools. The position involves coordinating workshops, collecting data, and communicating with students, families, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in liberal arts is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with high school youth.
• Understanding NYC social service resources for youth and families.
• Experience with NYC public schools and Community Schools Initiative.
• Experience with interactive learning strategies and youth development/leadership.
• Commitment to antiracist pedagogical practices.
• Strong communication, writing, organizational, and tech skills.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead attendance support by attending school meetings, developing metrics, and monitoring attendance improvements.
• Promote a positive school climate emphasizing safety, community, and positivity.
• Collect, input, and review attendance, evaluations, and other data.
• Coordinate and co-facilitate interactive workshops for GK's programs.
• Communicate with students, families, teachers, and partners about events and services.
• Develop content and curriculum on global issues and 21st-century skills.
• Travel for youth retreats and college trips as needed.
