Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist at Parsons Branch to deliver engaging youth programs and services. You will work with youth and caregivers to promote literacy through activities and events, both at the branch and in community settings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years’ experience working with youth, with a schedule including weekdays and occasional Sundays. Starting pay ranges from $21.49 to $28.89 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2–3 years of experience working with youth or in community engagement.
• Experience delivering programs to diverse audiences preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of customer service and engage youth and families with library resources, activities, and programs.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment balancing fun, engagement, and learning.
• Plan, promote and present programs for children of all ages at the location and off-site.
