Job summary

Washington County is seeking a 2nd shift Youth Development Supervisor to oversee operations within the Juvenile Detention Center, ensuring safety, order, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The role collaborates with courts, public defenders, prosecutors, and law enforcement to meet residents' needs.

The position requires meeting state training requirements, successful background checks, and drug testing as part of pre-employment processes.

Qualifications

• Must meet state law requirements for Juvenile Detention Standards Training (40 hours).
• Must pass criminal background check and obtain federally mandated security clearances as required.
• Pre-employment drug test is required; may have drug testing for promotions.
• Selected candidate may be subject to physical examination and verification of information provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents and maintain discipline in accordance with county standards.
• Coordinate with Juvenile Detention Center, Juvenile Courts, Public Defenders, Prosecuting Attorneys, law enforcement and other agencies as needed.
• Meet residents' needs while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
