City of Indianapolis and Marion County seeks a Detention Officer Supervisor for the Marion County Youth Service Center. The role supervises Detention Officers and Intake Officers, reviews disciplinary actions, and ensures safety and orderly operation in a secure youth facility. The shift runs 6:00p–2:00a with a shift differential.

Requires a high school diploma and supervisory experience; college degree or related experience preferred. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience required or preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Responsabilités

• Review all disciplines issued to residents to ensure compliance with the Behavior Management System; arbitrate complaints.
• Produce narrative and statistical reports for DSYS on facility, youth behavior, staffing, and security issues.
• Maintain accurate attendance and performance records for staff under supervision.
• Organize, oversee, and distribute duties to ensure efficient operation of the Center and units.
• Conduct periodic meetings with supervised staff; preside over roll call.
• Prepare monthly fact files; annual and six-month evaluations; identify training needs.
• Ensure staff compliance with policies; support mission and vision statements.
• Produce written and verbal incident reports related to confinement, escapes, use of force, property damage, suicides, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
