Job summary

Clay County is seeking dependable individuals to join our Juvenile Group Home team as Youth Specialist in Liberty, MO. The role focuses on supervision, guidance, and support to youth residents in a structured environment.

Responsibilities include supervising residents, coordinating daily routines, assisting with meals and schoolwork, transporting to activities, and administering medications per procedures. Full-time and part-time shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field required for Deputy Juvenile Officer.
• Valid driver’s license and liability insurance required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with youth, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents and coordinate daily routines and activities.
• Provide positive guidance, structure, and leadership.
• Assist with meals, household responsibilities, and schoolwork.
• Transport residents to school, appointments, and activities.
• Administer medications according to procedures.
• Complete shift notes, progress notes, and required documentation.
• Build positive relationships with residents and teach problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Participate in required meetings and CPR/physical restraint training.
• Comply with PREA requirements and departmental policies.
