Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is hiring a Part Time Child Activity Center Leader at Torrance, CA. This role supports youth development through structured activities, building belonging and positive relationships with children and caregivers.

You will implement curriculum, promote safe environments, and collaborate with staff to provide quality experiences for families involved in the South Bay YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a group setting (preschool to school-age).
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Strong communication with parents/caregivers and staff.
• Commitment to inclusivity and ADA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming that builds achievement and belonging.
• Maintain close supervision and age-appropriate environment setup.
• Use positive disciplinary approaches and constructive feedback.
• Support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper records per YMCA guidelines.
• Engage families and involve volunteers where applicable.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and events.
