YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles in Torrance, CA is seeking an Instructor for youth programs. This part-time role (up to 29 hours) focuses on creating positive, nurturing relationships with children and collaborating with parents, staff and partners to deliver PLAY curriculum.

You will promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility through age-appropriate activities. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• AGE: Eighteen years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with school age children in a group setting (preferred)
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities around a specific area of focus (arts & humanities, sports skills, etc.)
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Aufgaben

• Create positive, nurturing relationships with children and caregivers.
• Promote and support youth development through PLAY programs and curriculum.
• Provide direction to children in the PLAY programs and teach curriculum focused on mastering specific skills.
• Provide a quality experience to children that builds achievement and belonging in school communities.
