Job summary

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF MAURY COUNTY in Tennessee is seeking a part-time youth program assistant to support academic success, healthy lifestyles and good character. You will lead hands-on activities, read lesson plans, and help maintain safe, engaging spaces for K-12 participants.

You’ll collaborate with the Unit Director, drive positive youth development, supervise groups, manage attendance, and ensure timely paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• Some experience working with children is required. Prior BGCA or similar experience is preferred.
• Relate to youth, manage a classroom, and keep activities FUN.
• Teamwork, patience and creativity are essential.
• Reliable and punctual; show up on time and give full attention.

Responsibilities

• Execute hands-on programs with youth aligned to Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character outcomes.
• Read lesson plans, prepare materials, and support day-to-day program activities.
• Maintain group safety, show proper conduct, and enforce discipline per policy.
• Build positive relationships, mentor and encourage youth to believe in themselves.
• Keep areas safe, clean, and well-lit; ensure equipment is functional.
• Take attendance and complete timesheets and required paperwork on time.
