Job summary

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is seeking a Youth Program Specialist to support development, coordination, and delivery of youth and family prevention programs funded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Under the Director's supervision, you will design transition and leadership development, deliver workshops, maintain records, ensure compliance, and collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to achieve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Public Health, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with elementary/middle school youth in educational or youth development settings.
  • Strong relationship-building and engagement with youth, families, community partners, and staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and program coordination skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Commitment to youth development, prevention services, and organizational values.
  • Availability to work Saturdays and occasional evenings.
  • Proficiency with documentation, data collection, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sound professional judgment.
  • TB Test Clearance within the last two years for programs located on school district sites.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and implement evidence-based youth and family prevention service programs in alignment with grant, curriculum, contractual, and funding requirements.
  • Design and implement transition and leadership development programs that support student engagement, growth, and success.
  • Facilitate workshops, groups, activities, and prevention education sessions that promote positive youth development, family well-being, and community engagement.
  • Support Department of Public Health (DPH) programs through the facilitation of Strengthening Families Program (SFP), LifeSkills Training (LST), and other assigned prevention education sessions.
