Job summary

YMCA of Greater San Francisco is seeking a Teen Program Specialist to support prevention and youth development programs in school and community settings. You will design and facilitate student transition programs, leadership opportunities, and workshops that promote youth well-being and engagement with families and partners.

The role requires coordinating services, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with grant and district requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Public Health, or related field OR equivalent professional and community experience
• 2+ years of experience working with elementary and/or middle school youth in educational, community-based, or youth development settings
• Strong relationship-building and engagement with youth, families, community partners, and staff
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and program coordination skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
• Commitment to youth development, prevention services, and organizational values
• Availability to work Saturdays and occasional evenings as required
• Proficiency with documentation, data collection, and reporting requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
• TB Test Clearance within the last two years, as required for programs located on school district sites

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, facilitate, and implement evidence-based youth and family prevention programs in alignment with grant, curriculum, contract, and funding requirements
• Design and implement student transition programs that support successful engagement between school-year and summer programming
• Develop and facilitate youth leadership opportunities that promote positive youth development
• Facilitate workshops, groups, activities, and prevention education sessions that support youth and family well-being
• Support Department of Public Health prevention initiatives, including facilitation of SFP and Life Skills Training (LST) sessions
• Conduct assessments and develop Family Service Plans using appropriate intervention strategies and service approaches
• Provide case management support and make referrals to community resources as appropriate
• Participate in Case Management Team meetings and implement follow-up actions as assigned
• Support a holistic, strengths-based approach to addressing youth and family needs
• Recruit, engage, and maintain positive relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners
• Collaborate with school partners, the school Beacon program, and community-based organizations to support program objectives
• Promote participant engagement and support program participation goals
• Plan and coordinate program operations, logistics, scheduling, and implementation activities
• Maintain accurate participant records, case files, data collection systems, and required documentation
• Complete and submit all required reports, paperwork, and contract deliverables in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, school district requirements, Department of Public Health standards, and grant requirements
• Monitor program outcomes and support reporting activities as required by funding sources
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and partner meetings
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support program success
• Provide and receive constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and professional growth
• The position works primarily in school-based, community-based, and office settings supporting youth and family services
• This role may require attendance at evening or weekend activities, meetings, trainings, and special events
