Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston in Katy, TX is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after-school programs and day camps. This part-time role offers engaging work with youth and families in a community-focused environment.

You will create a safe, fun, and enriching space, lead activities, and model YMCA values while supporting daily operations and relationships with schools and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Monitor safety and supervision; conduct headcounts and follow YMCA policies.
• Lead activities and adapt the YMCA curriculum to diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values in daily interactions.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and school partners.
• Protect youth by following all child-protection policies and proper sign-in/out procedures.
