Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking Youth Development Counselors for Before/After School Programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. A temporary $3.00 per hour stipend is available in eligible locations, in addition to base pay.

You will create a safe, engaging environment, lead activities, supervise students, and build relationships with families and staff. This is part-time, active role requiring energy, reliability, and a passion for helping youth grow.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of youth experience in a licensed setting
• CPR/First Aid/AED training or willingness to obtain
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations
• Able to pass background checks and fingerprinting
• TB test and required immunizations per guidelines

Responsibilities

• Lead before/after school and day camp activities
• Create a safe, fun, enriching environment for youth
• Monitor safety and supervision according to YMCA policies
• Engage youth and families with positive interactions
• Build relationships with school staff and YMCA team
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean space
• Follow child-protection policies and sign-in/out procedures
