Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to guide before/after school and day camp programs. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and engaging activities that help youth grow, learn, and thrive.

The position includes a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend for eligible locations, with the potential to impact families and the community through meaningful supervision and programming.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Background checks and fingerprinting as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Before/After School and Day Camp programs with energy and compassion.
• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment.
• Deliver activities from YMCA curriculum and adapt to youth needs.
• Model YMCA values and maintain strong relationships with families.
