Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring Youth Development Leaders for before/after school and day camp programs in the Katy area. You will nurture a safe, engaging environment, lead age-appropriate activities, and support families and staff.

Eligible employees receive a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend on top of base pay. Roles offer flexible schedules and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven community.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and respond to incidents using YMCA policies and training.
• Lead activities to bring the YMCA curriculum to life through games and hands-on learning.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily operations: maintain a clean, organized, and safe space.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and staff.
