Job summary

Salvation Army NSC-Charleston Corps in Charleston, SC seeks a full-time Youth Program Assistant to support program leaders, assist with member registration, and help deliver engaging activities for youth.

The role includes safe transportation of youth, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with officers to foster a Christ-centered environment while maintaining facility and vehicle upkeep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous work in related field with children and youth preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• BFOQ: Must be over the age of 21 to drive center vehicle to transport youth to/from the Red Shield Youth Center and for field trips.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and leading center members and activities within the program area.
• Safely transport center members and staff to and from school, activities or programs and report maintenance or safety needs of the vehicle.
• Contribute to ministry advancement by supporting Salvation Army Officers to provide an engaging youth environment.
• Ensure operational standards of Red Shield Youth Center are implemented and maintained.
