Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking Youth Development Leaders to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You will create a safe, engaging environment, plan age-appropriate activities, and model YMCA values while building strong relationships with youth and families.

The role offers part-time hours with shifts aligned to ISD calendars. Eligible locations across Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD participate in a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Six months of youth-facing experience in a licensed setting preferred
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations
• Able to pass background checks and fingerprinting
• TB testing and required immunizations per state/local guidelines

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after-school and day camp programs
• Lead engaging activities and adapt to meet diverse needs
• Monitor safety, supervise groups, and maintain sign-in/out procedures
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, safe space
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, school staff, and YMCA team
• Ensure program compliance with state licensing and YMCA policies
