Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from participants, members, staff, administration, or the public.
• Ability to write reports in prescribed style and format.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to interpret various instructions with abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the children, classroom, and all program activities.
• Maintains program site, equipment, and required records.
• Creates lesson plans to achieve program goals and outcomes.
• Provides opportunities for youth to lead and reflect on experiences.
• Observes and evaluates each child.
• Communicates with parents about child needs and progress; conducts conferences.
• Attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training.
• Upholds YMCA safety and risk management policies.
