Job summary

Chinese American Planning Council in New York City seeks a Youth Development Coach within the Education and Career Services division. You will provide individualized guidance, counseling, and case management to youth participants, entering case notes and tracking progress toward academic, financial, and career goals.

You will liaise with worksites, develop partnerships, co-plan social-emotional learning and career readiness activities, coordinate guest speakers and field trips, and maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the fields of youth and/or workforce development.
• Bilingual; fluency in English and any of Arabic/Chinese/Spanish.
• Strong written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized guidance and counseling, and case management services; enter participant case notes and track progress, including services received.
• Assist and guide high school students with their academic, financial, and/or professional goals.
• Act as a liaison between CPC and worksites; develop partnerships with a variety of sectors and industries.
• Co-Plan and facilitate social-emotional learning, interactive projects-based learning, career-readiness, college readiness, and basic life-skills workshops.
• Coordinate scheduling of guest speakers, field trips, and manage participant files and attendance.
