Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is seeking a Youth Development Professional to act as a positive role model. You will support and encourage youth, form lasting relationships, and design activities to promote welfare while expanding skills in social work, behavioral studies, and management.

The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and constructive supervision. The position involves facilitating daily recreational activities, upholding club policies, and collaborating with leadership

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Commitment to working four days a week.
• Commitment to work at the Club during the summer.
• Ability to work within school year operating hours.
• Ability to work within summer operating hours.
• Understand and demonstrate behavior management principles per Club values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all areas by enforcing rules, modeling positive behavior, and mentoring youth.
• Oversee daily operations of recreation areas and safety equipment.
• Organize and facilitate recreational activities including games, fitness events, arts and crafts, and daily music.
• Encourage members to participate and form healthy relationships through welcoming interactions.
• Assess group dynamics and collaborate to create activities for desirable outcomes.
• Complete paperwork, incident reports, progress evaluations, and activity assessments.
• Foster collaboration by adding activities that promote teamwork and responsibility.
• Ensure all program activities follow the Club’s policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the safety and security of the youth in the facility.
• Attend 100% of monthly all-staff meetings and biweekly one-on-one and team meetings.
• Assist supervisor in trimester performance goals and provide daily feedback.
• Implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
• Exhibit the Club Values of excellence, impact-driven, teamwork, and good character.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
