Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Inc. in Milbank, SD seeks a Youth Development Professional to be a positive role model for youth. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Commitment to four days a week.
• Commitment to meeting scheduling needs for the upcoming semester and summer.
• Must understand and demonstrate behavior management principles and youth-focused values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in enforcing rules, model positive behavior, and mentor youth.
• Oversee daily recreation areas, safety equipment, facilities cleanliness, and signage.
• Organize activities: daily games, fitness events, arts and crafts, and daily music instruction.
• Encourage participation, greet new members, promote group activities, and ensure fair treatment of all.
• Assess group dynamics and collaborate with leadership to design activities for positive outcomes.
• Complete paperwork, incident reports, progress evaluations, and activity assessments as required.
• Foster teamwork and leadership among participants by adding activities that promote responsibility.
• Ensure all program activities follow Club policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety and security of youth in the facility.
• Attend all-staff meetings and regular check-ins with the supervisor.
• Provide daily feedback to supervisor on day progress and program improvements.
• Implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
• Exhibit Club Values: excellence, impact-driven, teamwork, good character.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
