Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties seeks a part-time Youth Sports Staff- Cheer to join the Haselwood Family YMCA in Silverdale, WA. You will instruct cheer, support youth development, and foster a safe, fun environment aligned with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include leading skill development, planning engaging lessons, and promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship. CPR/First Aid preferred; background checks required.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Positive attitude and experience with youth and diverse populations.
• Knowledge of program activities and related sports and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities for each age group.
• Encourage sportsmanship and teach YMCA core values.
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans to ensure fun, high-energy classes.
• Monitor the facility and organize activities; instruct youth on equipment use.
• Provide a safe, positive and fun environment for participants.
