Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Youth Sports Staff for the Pearl Street Family YMCA in Tacoma, Washington. This part-time role focuses on instructing children in various sports and activities while upholding the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

You will lead age-appropriate lessons, supervise activities, and promote sportsmanship in a safe, fun environment. Candidates should be at least 15 years old with related experience preferred; CPR/First

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Six months or more related experience preferred.
• Ability to instruct participants in techniques.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
• Pass background and reference checks per WA State Fair Chance Act.
• Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities appropriate for each age group.
• Encourage sportsmanship and teachable moments to implement our core values.
• Assist in creating age-appropriate lesson plans to ensure fun, high-energy classes.
• Monitor the facility, organize activities and instruct youth on proper use of equipment.
