Job summary

The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is seeking temporary Recreation Assistants to support programs, supervise participants, and ensure safe, well-run activities in community facilities.

Ideal candidates will hold current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, with HS diploma or GED. Availability for evenings, holidays, and weekends is required; HS students may apply. This is an EEO-employer position.

Qualifications

• Must have current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications or able to obtain.
• High school diploma or GED (HS students exempt).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programs, oversee participants, facility operations and organized group activities.
• Monitor activities and safety for adults, youth, and volunteers during events.
• Assist lead staff in running programs, games, and special events.
