Job summary

USCG Community Services Command in Kodiak, AK seeks a Supervisory Recreation Specialist to lead youth programs at the MWR Teen Center. You will ensure a safe, engaging environment, plan and coordinate year‑round activities, and manage budgets and staff to support community needs.

The role requires development of youth initiatives, collaboration with partners, and leadership in program delivery, while maintaining compliance with federal policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications required within 6 months.
• A child protective background clearance will be conducted after hire.
• At least 2 years’ experience in youth programs, with at least one year in a supervisory position.
• Experience using social media platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Youth Center operations to ensure a safe, healthy environment for youth programs.
• Plan, organize, and provide a year‑round youth sports, recreation, and educational programming.
• Supervise employees and volunteers; provide training and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with parents, volunteers, and installation staff to meet program needs.
