Job summary

Kodiak MWR in Kodiak, AK seeks a Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Youth Services) to lead youth programs and staff, ensuring safe, healthy activities year-round. You will plan, supervise, and evaluate programs, manage budgets, and coordinate partner activities including Keystone, Torch Club, and Military Youth of the Year.

The role requires strong organizational skills, youth experience, and supervisory ability; a valid CPR/First Aid credential, and a background check.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtainable within 6 months
• Child protective background clearance required after hire
• 2+ years in youth programs with supervisory experience
• Experience with social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Direct Youth Center operations to ensure safe, healthy, and engaging environments.
• Plan, organize, and schedule year-round youth sports, recreation, social, and educational programs.
• Establish budgets and manage APF/NAF funds and grants; analyze programs and budgets.
• Supervise employees and volunteers; train, evaluate, and address performance issues.
• Coordinate and lead Boys and Girls Club programming (Keystone, Torch Club, Military Youth of the Year).
